About Islamic University of Kenya
Islamic University of Kenya (IUK) was established in early 2000s through the initiative International Trust for Education (ITED).
At the initial stage, the institution concentrated on Islamic and Arabic language courses offering Diploma certifications after graduation but sequel to high demand for affordable education, the institution has now been upgraded to a standard university offering diverse programs.

IUK Jobs Requirements and Qualifications
1. Marketing Officer
- Applicant must have a degree and post graduate qualification in either Marketing, Communication, Public Relations, journalism etc. from a recognized university.
- Having at least three (3) years of experience in relation to marketing is an added advantage.
- Must have knowledge of Islamic values and ability to communication within a faith-based institution.
2. HR Officer
- Candidates applying for this role are expected to have a degree in Human Resources or closely related discipline.
- Must be members of relevant professional body.
- Should have at least five (5) years experience.
3. Class Coordinator
- Applicant must have a degree in Social Science or closely related discipline.
- Should possess relevant five (5) years of experience.
- Should possess outstanding organization and communication skills.
4. Lecturer in Usul al-Fiqh
- Applicant must have a PhD in Usul al-Fiqh, Islamic Law or related academic discipline.
- Foreign degree earned must be vetted by Kenya Commission of University Education (CUE).
- Must have experience in teaching and curriculum development.
- Possessing excellent communication, organizational and ICT skills are key.
- Must be knowledgeable on Learning Management System (LMS) for online and ODeL teaching.
5. Hadeeth Lecturer
The primary responsibility of this lecturer shall be to teach both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Hadeeth (prophetic traditions).
To qualify:
- Applicant must have a PhD in Hadeeth, Islamic Studies or related academic discipline.
- Should have experience in teaching Hadeeth especially at postgraduate level.
- Mastering English language an other communication skills are great advantage.
6. Lecturer in Arabic Language
If employed, you will be responsible for teaching Arabic language courses tailored for non-Arabic speakers. To qualify for this role:
- Applicant must posses a Master’s degree in Arabic language, Linguistics or related academic discipline.
- Should have experience in teaching Arabic to non-Arabic speakers.
- Must possess relevant communication, organizational and ICT skills.
