Latest News on Teachers Recruitment in Zambia PDF 2025

The latest news as of today about Zambia government teachers recruitment, is that the list of shortlisted candidates have been released. This was publicly made known by the Ministry of Education, Hon. Douglas Syakalima.

The breakdown of Zambia teachers shortlisted candidates PDF are as follows;

424 candidates were shortlisted for early childhood education.
1,136 were selected for primary school while;
2,640 applicants were shortlisted for secondary school.

When you sum the numbers, it gives you a total of 4,200 successful candidates. Mind you that the Zambian government is seeking to recruit only 2,400 teachers as conclusion for the 2024 teachers recruitment exercise.

All shortlisted candidates will undergo screening and after two (2) weeks, the final names of successful candidates shall be made known.

Shortlisting Criteria for Zambia Teachers Recruitment 2024

The ministry of education simply used the basic requirements spelt out during application as the yard stick to select qualified persons. Refer to the list below.

Applicant of the Zambia teachers recruitment must be above 18 years old.
He or she must be registered with Zambia Teaching Council.
Must be a graduate of an approved institution.
Must have Grade twelve (12) school certificate or equivalent.
And most importantly candidate must have submitted application on or before the deadline.

Visit www.edu.gov.zm, navigate to careers, select shortlisted candidates, download the PDF and search for your name. Alternatively, you can get the list via electronic and print (newspaper) media.
