The Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VDM) was founded as a corporate entity in accordance to CAP 366 (article 39) of Kenya laws, with the primary function of executing accurate regulatory measures to achieve the highest standards of safety to ensure quality for veterinary medicines.
In addition to this is the sole responsibility of regulating and overseeing the manufacturing, importation, exportation, registration, and distribution of veterinary medicines in Kenya.

Requirements, Responsibilities & Qualifications
1. Inspector
As the inspector officer, you will supervise other senior officer to develop and assess standards for veterinary medicines registration. To qualify this role, you must:
- Have a Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary medicine.
- Be a registered member of Kenya Veterinary Board.
- Understand and comply with chapter 6 of Kenya constitution.
- Finally, must be a computer literate.
2. Legal Officer
This position entail that you highlight legal and compliance risk on behalf of the board, compile contract documentation and as well attend court hearings. To get appointed, you should have:
- A degree in law.
- Postgraduate Diploma or equivalent qualification in Legal Studies.
- Must be proficient in computer applications and adhere to the requirements of chapter six of the constitution.
3. Drivers
As a driver of VMD, you will ensure that personnel and goods get to destinations safely and as well ensure cleanliness of the vehicle. To get appointed, you must satisfy the requirement below.
- Applicant must have at least mean grade of D+ in KCSE.
- Must have at least 4 years experience.
- Must have a valid driving license and proficiency in computer applications.
- Should pass suitability test for Driver Grade III.
4. Accounts Assistant
As the account assistant, you will prepare payment voucher, maintain registers, and issue receipts for monies received. To qualify:
- Applicant must have a Diploma in Accounting CPA II, ACCA II.
- Must be proficient in computer applications, possess analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Office Assistant
You will be responsible to ensure general office neatness, carry out office errands and then collect and dispatch mails. Requirements and qualifications needed are:
- D Plain in Kenya Certificate Secondary Education (KCSE) and proficiency in computer applications, then must fulfill chapter 6 of the Kenyan constitution.
