Duties and Requirements for NGEC Jobs 2025

1. Programme Officer I

As the programme officer I, you will be aiding to develop, examine and as well execute relevant strategies on gender equality, children, youths and persons with disability. Furthering, you shall be giving opinions on fund proposal, work plans and budgets.

Your basic salary is within the range of Ksh. 105,981.00 157,495.00.

Qualification Needed

  • Candidate who qualifies for this role must have worked as Programmes Officer II for at least three (3) years.
  • He or she must have a First degree or equivalent certification in either Human Rights, Anthropology, Community Development, Sociology, Social Sciences etc. from an approved institution.
  • Knowing, understanding and adhering to the requirements of chapter six (6) of Kenya constitution is mandatory.
  • It is of great advantage if you have computer skills.

2. Programme Officer II

Your fundamental duty would be to assist superiors in mainstream issues bother gender, women, youths, and persons with disability. Also, you will be forming paper notions and reports on how the programme is going. You will be paid a basic salary of Ksh. 78,622 – 118,486.00. The reference number for this job is NGEC/HR/2/02/2025.

Qualification Needed

  • You need a Bachelor’s degree in either Gender and Development, Economics, Human Rights, Development Studies etc. Good computer skills and then meet the demands of chapter six of Kenya constitution.

3. Office Assistant Administrator III

Your responsibilities includes tiding up the office including kitchen, prepare tea, see to adequate sanitation, run photocopying, receiving dispatch letter and as well moving office equipment when necessary.

Qualification Needed

  • Candidates applying for this role must have a mean grade D+ in Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) from KNEC.
  • Align with the requirements of chapter six.
  • Having basic computer application skills.

4. Senior Legal Officer

An officer at this level may be assigned to any of the following functional areas: Legal, Complaints and Investigations, or Redress.

Qualification Needed

  • Served as a Legal Officer I or in a comparable and relevant position for at least three (3) years.
  • Holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from a recognized institution.
  • Admitted to the bar as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.
  • Possesses at least six (6) years of demonstrable litigation experience, particularly in constitutional, human rights, criminal, family, and succession law.
  • Successfully completed a Senior Management course at a recognized institution.
  • Is an active member of a relevant professional body.
  • Complies with the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.Demonstrates proficiency in computer skills.
  • Exhibits merit and capability as evidenced by work performance and results.

5. Member Audit Committee

To get appointed for this role, below are the requirements you must meet.

  • Holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce (Finance/Accounting option), Business Administration (Finance/Accounting option), or a related field from a university recognized in Kenya.
  • Attained professional certification as a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA-K) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).
  • Is a member in good standing with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) or the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).
  • Has at least five (5) years of experience in Accounting or Auditing, or has served in a reputable organization.
  • Demonstrates excellent knowledge of audit committee functions and risk management frameworks.
  • Possesses a thorough understanding of relevant legislation, best practices, and emerging trends in Accounting, Auditing, Finance, Risk Management, Human Resources, Procurement, and related fields.
  • Is proficient in the use of computer applications.
  • Has a sound understanding of government operations and financial management systems.
  • Exhibits proven professional competence and administrative ability as reflected in work performance and results.

6. Finance Officer I

As finance officer, you will be part of the annual budget preparation team as well as its allocation for maximum utilization.

Qualification Needed

  • A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, and Business Administration etc. is needed for this position. Candidate applying must have also served as Finance officer II for 3 years. Been a member of professional body as it relates to your discipline is necessary and you must understand how computerized financial management system works.

7. Driver II

Your duty will be driving assigned vehicles, observing common possible mechanical faults and ensuring the safety of the vehicle.

Qualification Needed

  • You must have driving experience for at least 3 years or even more. Having a driving license, passing occupational trade test II and attending defensive driving certificate is necessary.

8. Human Resource Management Officer I

You will be confirming information submitted by prospective applicants for vacancies in the commission. Getting ready training projections and taking care of staff leave, medical and other welfare issues will be under your jurisdiction.

  • Having a degree in Human Resource Management, Public Administration of any social science related course is necessary.

9. Principal Administration Officer

  • You should be a graduate of Business Administration, Logistics, Public Administration etc. having a Master’s degree in any of these discipline is also an added advantage. Professional certification in Senior Management Course is still an added advantage.

10. Principal Accountant

NGEC Recruitment 2025 Deadline

Applications for National Gender and Equality Commission vacancies must get to the office in hard copy only on or before Wednesday, 12th March 2025 at 5.00pm. Those who fail to make their submission as scheduled are automatically disqualified.
