Roles of Kenya NRF

The Kenya National Research Fund (NRF) was founded in 2013 with the key aim of mobilizing, assigning and managing financial resources to ease national innovation system in other to create needed knowledge in spheres of Science and Technology to boost the economy.

Job Description & Requirements

Below are the criteria that makes you eligible for the above vacancies.

1. Principal Accountant

As the principal accountant, your primary duty shall be to orchestrate financial accounting policies, strategies and see to the adequate implementation of it.

To emerge as the ideal candidate:

• You must have Bachelor’s degree in either Accounting, Business Management or Administration from a recognized and accredited institution.
• An overall experience of at least nine (9) years is required.
• Must have professional certification such as CPA-K.
• Must be a registered member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) or any other relevant professional body.
• Attending a management course off at least one (1) month from a recognized institution is mandatory.
• Must be a computer literate.

2. Principal Information Communication Technology Officer

Developing and executive relevant ICT policies and strategies, creating network security controls, and maintenance of ICT infrastructure amongst others are your key responsibilities.

Requirements for this position are as follows:

• Applicant must have a degree in ICT, Computer Science or Engineering, Business Information Technology, Software Engineering etc.
• An overall work experience of at least nine (9) years is required.
• Must have additional professional qualifications such as; CCNA, CCNP, MCSE, CISA, CISSP, Prince 2 etc.
• Must be a registered member of ICTAK or any other relevant professional body.
• Must be proficient in relevant computer applications and as well completed a one (1) month management/leadership course.

3. Principal Human Resource Management and Development Officer

You shall be drafting training and development programmes, interpret, execute and review human resource development policies etc.

To get appointed for this role:

• Candidate must have a total of nine (9) years relevant work experience.
• Must be a computer literate.
• Must have a Bachelor’s degree in either Human Resource, Sociology, Public Administration, Business Administration etc.
• Must be a member of Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRPK) and also registered with the Institute of Human Resource Management.
• Attended a management or leadership course at a recognized institution.
