Kenya Prisons Recruitment Dates and Centers 2025 Requirements
The Kenya Prisons recruitment dates and centers 2025 is out as the intake process for this year officially begun on Monday, 7th April and will be closing on Wednesday 30th 2025. The vacancies announced are for Professional cadet officers, technicians and artisans.
Interested candidates are to participate in the application process by downloading the PSC.2 (revised 2007) form at www.publicservce.go.ke, fill and submit the form and other documents to the Director General, Prisons Service in Nairobi, Kenya.

Requirements for Kenya Prisons Recruitment 2025
Candidates seeking to apply for this recruitment exercise must be a Kenyan citizen with valid National Identification Card or Passport.
- Candidate must be between the age of 18 and 30 years old.
- Having a criminal record disqualifies you off the application process.
- Applicant must have either a Diploma, Degree or be a certificate holder.
- Been medically and physically fit is non negotiable.
- Female applicants must not be pregnant throughout the recruitment process.
Apart from the above general requirements, below are the educational qualifications candidates for each category must possess.
1. Professional Cadet Officers
- Applicants of this position must have a Bachelor’s degree from an approved higher institution whether in Kenya or abroad.
- Additional, relevant professional qualifications is a plus.
2. Technicians
- Candidates interested in the role of technicians must have either a Certificate or Diploma qualification from an accredited institution.
- Also, registration with professional bodies related to this discipline is an added advantage.
3. Artisans
- Those applying for the post of artisan must have at least mean grade of D+ (plus) in Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) or equivalent qualification.
- Must possess a valid Government Trade Test Certificate Grade I or III
- Alternatively, a Certificate in Craft or any other technical qualification is a plus.
3. Prisons Constable
- Candidates applying for Prisons constable must have a mean grade of D+ plus in Kenya Certificate of Education.
- The measurement take for male applicants is at least 5 feet 4 includes while female is 5 feet 2 inches.
