The 2025 Kazi Mtaani Initiative has been rebranded as Climate Workx, and the aim of the program is to support unemployed youths and also address government climate resilience and infrastructure maintenance agenda. Cores of Kazi Mtaani program are Community Service and Environmental sustainability.

  • General workers
  • Supervisors

1. General workers – Kazi Mtaani Program

This aspect of the program is mainly for youths who will be given opportunities to work in community infrastructure maintenance, environmental conservation, and national awareness.

Activities such as routine road maintenance, tree painting, seedling production, general cleaning activities, general cleaning activities, tree seedbeds, civic education sessions. Part of these will be supervised by the Kenya Forest Service (KFS).

How much will youth be paid?

The program targets a daily pay of KES 500 through M-Pesa for all workers. This will come at the end of each 10 days shift.

Where will the work be done?

Not to worry, selected persons will be stationed at their home villages although there may be deployment based on tasks assigned by the Assistant Chiefs, Nyumba Kumi leadrs, and technical officers from KeRRA, KURA and KFS.

2. Supervisors – Kazi Mtaani Program

This category of workers will be in-charge, ensuring smooth execution of suppose activities at all levels. This includes conducting daily roll calls and briefing, oversee and coordinate the maintenance of roads, seed, tree planting and cleaning.

How much will supervisors be paid?

Approximately, supervisors are entitled to KES 580 daily pay still through M-Pesa at the completion of the 10-day shift.

1. Disability Inclusion (30%)

2. Household Quota
