A total of nine (9) vacancies have been announced across diverse medical department with the aim of exposing candidates to real-time professional experience, to ensure better performance in the labour market.
About HBCTRH Internship Programme 2025
The Homa Bay Teaching and Referral Hospital (HBCTRH) is owned by the government and it operates under the Ministry of Health according to legal notice number 4 of State Corporations Act Cap 446.
HBCTRH Internship seeks to engage qualified staff for twelve (12) months. The contract is non-renewable and candidates applying must be ready to give full-time attention to assigned responsibilities.
The job cadre as announced by the management are as follows:
- Pharmaceutical Technologist (DHS/HBCTRH/HRM/VOL 1)
- Theatre Technician (DHS/HBCTRH/HRM/VOL 1)
- Radiographer/Sonographer (DHS/HBCTRH/HRM/VOL 1)
- Physiotherapist (DHS/HBCTRH/HRM/VOL 1)
- Occupational Therapy (DHS/HBCTRH/HRM/VOL 1)
- Medical Laboratory Technologist (DHS/HBCTRH/HRM/VOL 1)
- Electrical Technician (DHS/HBCTRH/HRM/VOL 1)
Requirements for HBCTRH Internship 2025
Generally, irrespective of the position you wish to apply, it is demanded that you must be a Kenyan citizen with valid National Identity Card or Passport, and should be residing in the country.
Furthermore, there are position based requirements as outlined below:
1. Pharmaceutical Technologist
To qualify for this position, you must have either a Diploma or Degree in Pharmaceutical Technology from an approved tertiary institution. Candidate must also be registered with Pharmacy and Poisons Board with a valid practicing license.
2. Theatre Technician
Applicant must have a Certificate of Perioperative Theatre Technology. Be a member of relevant professional body.
3. Radiographer/Sonographer
Candidates for this role must have a Diploma in either Diagnostic Radiography/Medical Imaging Sciences Ultra Sound, Radiation Therapy and Digital Medical imaging Equipment etc.
A Higher Diploma in Sonography, registration with Society of Radiography in Kenya, and valid practicing license from Kenya Nuclear Regulatory Authority (KNRA) .
4. Physiotherapist
Applicants of this vacancy must have at least a Diploma in Physiotherapy from an approved institution. Should be registered and active with Kenya Society of Physiotherapists and as well have a practicing license from same.
5. Occupational Therapy
A diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy, registration with Kenya Occupational Therapists Association etc. Candidate must also be able to use modern equipment and tools etc.
