Eligibility Criteria for COG Recruitment 2025

Requirements and Qualifications for COG Jobs 2025

Depending on the position you wish to apply, here are the key requirements you must meet.

1. Internal Auditor

• Applicant is expected to have a Bachelors Degree or equivalent qualification in Accounting, Finance, Law etc. from an approved tertiary institution.
• Should have experience in carrying out comprehensive research.
• Must have at least CPA part 2 qualification.
• Must be able to write and speak English and Kiswahili and as well be a computer literate.

2. Program Officer

• A degree in either Library studies, or Information Science is required.
• Must have gained relevant experience in either a public or private organization for at least three (3) years.

3. HR & Administration

• Candidates applying for this position must have a degree in Human Resource Management.
• Must have experience in comprehensive research.
• Must be a computer literate, have good analytical and communication skill.

4. Legal

• Applicant must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Law.
• Must be able to speak and write in Kiswahili and English.

5. Senior Program Officer

• Candidates applying for this position must have a Bachelor’s degree in Gender Studies, Development Studies, Social science or any other relevant academic discipline from an approved university.
• A minimum of five (5) year experience in either the public or private sector is required for this position.
• Possess qualification or training in Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) is an added advantage.
• Candidates should have a proper understanding of Nationals, policies and how it relate to the council’s objectives.
• In-depth knowledge of Devolution as outlined in the Constitution.
• Expertise in financial and human resource management.
• Strong grasp of government policies, regulations, and procedures.
• Proficiency in policy development and strategy implementation.
• Effective stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent communication abilities.
• Commitment to professionalism.

6. Program Officer, Education

• As the program officer (education), you must have a degree or equivalent qualification in either Education, Development Studies, Social Science etc. from an accredited institution.
• It is mandatory to have at least three (3) years of experience relevant to this position.
• A comprehensive and careful understanding of National goals and how to aligns with the council’s mandate is compulsory.
• Comprehensive understanding of Devolution according to the Constitution.
• Skills in financial and human resource management.
• Familiarity with government policies, regulations, and procedures.
• Experience in policy development and strategic implementation.
• Ability to manage stakeholder relationships.
• Strong communication skills.
• High level of professionalism.

7. Driver

• Possess a Kenya Certificate with a Mean Grade of D Plus or its equivalent.
• Have a minimum of 4 years of active driving experience.
• Hold a valid, current digital driving license, free from endorsements, and valid for the relevant vehicle classes.
• Have a solid understanding of the Highway Code.
• Passed the Suitability Test for Drivers Grade II from the State Department of Public Works.
• Received professional training from an approved Government Institution.
• Hold a certificate of Good Conduct.
• Possess a First Aid Certificate from a recognized institution.
• Knowledgeable in computer applications.
• Exhibit excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
• Be fluent in both English and Kiswahili.
