The African Development Bank (AFDB) situated in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire was founded in 1964 and with branches across other African states has the central vision of an outstanding, prosperous, inclusive, resilient and integrated African.

African Development Bank Internship 2025 Program
The bank seeks to recruit dynamic, vision oriented, discipline and hardworking individuals for intern vacancies based on the business needs of the bank.
The aims of this internship program include;
- Giving students the opportunity to gain professional and practical experience in a thriving environment like the African Development Bank.
- Through adequate training provided during the internship program, the bank will have a collection of potential candidates for posterity recruitment exercises.
In as much as this is true, applicants are advised not to tune into the internship program will the mindset of immediate employment with AFDB.
Eligibility Criteria for AFDB Internship 2025
You can only apply for the internship program if you meet the criteria below:
- Applicants must be between the age of 18 and 30 years old.
- Must have a degree or equivalent and currently admitted for a Master’s degree program in either a Private or Public institution.
- Applicant must be a national of the member countries of the African Development Bank.
- Must provide a recommendation or confirmation letter from the institution they’re doing the Master’s program. Those who concluded the program can provide the certificate.
- Applicant must be proficient in either English Language or French.
- Must be proficient with relevant software packages use by the bank such as; MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access etc.

Duration for the 2025 Internship Program
This is the session 2 of the African Development Bank internship 2025 program. The duration for this program is three (3) to six (6) months starting from July 2025.
- Understand that you cannot apply for this program more than once.
- Candidates selected for the internship will work remotely or on-site depending on the need of their hiring units.
- Sequel to this, remote interns are required to have a personal computer, reliable internet connection and a favorable that ensure smooth and uninterrupted remote working.
- On-site interns shall handle their air travel to and from the Bank’s location and their upkeep as well.
- AFDB will assist concerned interns get entry and residence visas if need be.
- Medical insurance and monthly stipend are paid by the bank throughout the internship period.

AFDB Internship Selection Process
Generally, the bank offers two (2) internship session every year. Successful candidates for session 1 resumes January while those for session 2 commences in July.
The ideal time to apply for session 1 is always October as selected interns will commence January of the following year.
Note: Persons working at the African Development Bank either as a full staff, short term staff (STS), technical assistant, or consultant are not permitted to apply.
Only applicants who meets the requirements aforementioned, complete the online application form, attach a concise CV and any other supporting document shall be contacted for further assessment.
If you have dual citizenship is not permitted as you must declare only one nationality. Also, uploading Government issued IDs like National Identity Card, International Passport or Certificate of origin etc. is mandatory.
